Tom Tom map version 22.0/11.0 is the most recent map update for most built in-car satellite navigation systems.
To determine what version your in-car navigation system is using, simply locate the map CD, DVD or SD Card – you’ll often find this located in the boot, under the seat, or in the glove box of your car.
The sat nav is still in good working order so I don't really see the need to get a new one at the moment...though it is bulkier than some of the new ones on the market these days, but that's technology for you lol.
So does anyone know where I can either download more recent maps for the device for free or relatively cheap?
Depending on the configuration of your computer and internet connection, it can take two hours or more to download a map.
The download of a software update is typically much faster. In most cars it is located on the left side of the steering wheel towards the door.
A spring now forces the card to come out far enough so that you can take hold of the card.
Simply follow the system prompts from there to complete the process.
I've got a Tom Tom Go 700, which I got as a gift about 3 years ago.
I can't use Tom Tom HOME, because it only supports Windo$e and Mac. However I would respectfully request you please begin Linux support for Tom Tom Home.
Has anyone found a way to get updates and copy them to Tom Tom's, using USB? AMD Athlon 64 x2.4 ghz, Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe, OCZ Platinum rev.2 2 GB RAM, Western Digital 320 GB x2, Western Digital 500 GB, Hitachi 1 TB SATA x1 Long time M$ user almost ready to burn his copy of XP. Ok what I have learned is: Tomtom's themselves are Linux based. I can't seem to run it in Wine, or in windows emulators. Myself, I run Ubuntu Linux Version 8.04 Hardy Heron.
